Constrictor Team

Constrictor Team is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA team, led by Master Ataíde Ludgero Junior and his son Ian Lucas Ludgero. Our Jiu Jitsu lineage is linked to Grandmaster Armando Wriedt, one of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu’s earliest pioneers. Being one of the legendary Helio Gracie‘s earliest black belts and one of the seven Masters that have received their red belt from Helio.

The team was originally called "Ataíde Junior Top Team" and it was focused on Jiu Jitsu tournaments as well as occasionally entered “Vale-Tudo" competitions (original name of the current MMA). During the competitions we were able to demonstrate the efficiency of our unique Jiu Jitsu style called "Constrictor ".

The “Contrictor Jiu Jitsu” was created by master Ataide Junior after years of study in his profession as a biologist and reptile keeper. The style is based on the way in which constrictors snakes capture and feed on their prey without using the poison. This adaptation has been proved to be extremely effective for Jiu Jitsu and MMA.

When the MMA became a well recognized professional sport, the federations and organizations that use to surround the sport began to value the athletes. In 2003, the “Ataíde Junior Top Team” was renamed to “Constrictor Team”. Following this, the team began to participate in bigger events and stood out in the national and international scene being recognized as one of the best teams in the world.

The Constrictor Team’s first international fight was in 2005, in Japan, when Rani Yahya finished the Japanese Taiyo Nakahara by a North- South choke, a signature position refined at the gym.

Nowadays, the team is represented by some athletes in the world's biggest MMA: Rani Yahya (UFC), Renato Moicano (UFC), Paulo Thiago (UFC), Francisco Trinaldo (UFC) and Luigi Vendramini (UFC) Adriano Moraes (flyweight ONE FC chamopion). There are also many title belts on big events in Latin America, such as Jungle Fight and Shooto Brazil (Gilberto Dias, Rafael Miranda, Rander Junio, Hebert Indio).

Since its creation, the Constrictor Team has stood out with their excellent results, literally becoming a factory of world champions. But above all it has been recognized by the wide-spread precepts of good behavior and conduct; which should be and it is the essential philosophy required within any martial arts.

Constrictor Team Australia is headed by Third Grade Black Belt Ian Ludgero, son of Master Ataíde Ludgero Junior, leader and Head Coach of the Constrictor Team.
